English translation

984. Ibn 'Abbās narrated that the Prophet ﷺ used to say after the Tashah-hud: "Allāhumma innī a'ūdhu bika min 'adhābi jahannam, wa a'ūdhu bika min 'adhābil-qabr, wa a'ūdhu bika min fitnatid-dajjāl, wa a'ūdhu bika min fitnatil-mahyā wal-mamat (O Allāh! I seek Your Refuge from the punishment of Hell, and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of the Dajjāl, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of life and death)." 984 - حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ، أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ يُونُسَ الْيَمَامِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ طَاوُسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ بَعْدَ التَّشَهُّدِ: «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الدَّجَّالِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ»
