Text and translation

English translation

1092. Ibn 'Umar reported: "The Prophet ﷺ would deliver two Khuṭbah — he would sit on the Minbar until" — I think [he said]: "the Mu'adh-dhin" — finished (the Adhān), then he would stand up and deliver a Khuṭbah, then sit down and not speak, then stand up and deliver a Khuṭbah."[2] (Da'if)

Commentary

Delivering the Khuṭbah from the Minbar while standing is recommended. It is not permissible to do so sitting unless there is a reason to justify that. The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ sat very briefly in between the two Khuṭbah.
