English translation

1105. Sahl bin Sa'd reported: "I never (even) once saw the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ raising his hands high while supplicating on the Minbar, nor elsewhere. But I did see him do this," and he pointed with his forefinger, and connected his thumb with the middle finger. (Da'if)

Arabic text

1105 - حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُفَضَّلِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذُبَابٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، قَالَ: " مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَاهِرًا يَدَيْهِ قَطُّ يَدْعُو عَلَى مِنْبَرِهِ، وَلَا عَلَى غَيْرِهِ، وَلَكِنْ رَأَيْتُهُ، يَقُولُ: هَكَذَا، وَأَشَارَ بِالسَّبَّابَةِ وَعَقَدَ الْوُسْطَى بِالْإِبْهَامِ "
