English translation

1230. It was reported from 'Āsim, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbās that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ stayed seventeen (days) in Makkah, and he shortened the prayers. Ibn 'Abbās said: "So whoever stays seventeen days should shorten, and whoever stays longer (than that) should pray the complete prayer." (Sahih) Abū Dāwūd said: 'Abbād bin Manšūr narrated it from 'Ikrimah from Ibn 'Abbās: "He stayed nineteen."
