English translation
161. It was reported from 'Urwah bin Az-Zubair, from Al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ would wipe over Khuffs.[1] Others aside from Muḥammad[1] said: "He wiped over the top of the Khuffs." (Hasan)

وهذا إسناد حسن إن شاء الله تعالى، رجاله كلهم ثقات؛ غير عبد الرحمن بن أبي الزناد، وهو مختلف فيه، ويظهر لنا من النظر في كلمات من تكلم فيه: أن ذلك من أجل حفظه، فهو من الذين يكتب حديثهم ويحتج به؛ ما لم يخالف أو يشذ؛ فهو حسن الحديث. وقد ترجمه الذهبي في "الميزان" ترجمة واسعة، ثمّ قال

161 - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ الْبَزَّازُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، قَالَ: ذَكَرَهُ أَبِي، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلّى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ»، وَقَالَ غَيْرُ مُحَمَّدٍ: «عَلَى ظَهْرِ الْخُفَّيْنِ»
