Text and translation

English translation

1631. It was reported from Al-A'mash, from Abū Ṣāliḥ from Abū Hurairah, who said: "The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'A poor person is not one who will be done away with a date or two, or a morsel or two; rather, a poor person is one who does not ask others for anything, and they do not recognize (his situation) and give him (charity).'" (Ṣaḥīḥ)
