Text and translation

English translation

1806. It was reported from 'Abdullāh bin 'Umar, from Ḥafṣah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, that she asked: "O Messenger of Allāh, what is the matter that the people have left the state of Iḥrām while you have not done so after your Umrah?" He said: "I have applied Talbīd to my hair, and garlanded my Hadī, so I will not exit Ihrām until I sacrifice the Hadī.” (Ṣaḥīḥ)

Commentary

The wives of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, exited Ihrām because they had not brought the sacrificial animals along with them. The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, however, remained in the state of Ihrām.
