184. Al-Barā' bin Azib said: "The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ was asked about performing Wudū' after eating camel meat. He replied: 'Perform Wudū' from it.' He was then asked about goat meat, and he replied, 'Do not perform Wudū' from it.' He was asked about praying in camel pens, so he replied: 'Do not pray in camel pens, since they are from the Shayātīn.' He was then asked about praying in goat pens, to which he replied: 'Pray in them, for they are blessed.'" (Saḥīḥ)

Commentary
The meat of a camel is lawful. Yet the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) has ordered the one who eats it to perform Wudū'. As for the wisdom behind this, Allāh knows best, see the brief discussion of Ibn Taymiyyah regarding the topic in the English translation of the book: "The Nature of Fasting," published by Darussalam.
