English translation
195. Abū Sufyān bin Sa’eed bin Al-Mughīrah said that he visited Umm Ḥabībah. She gave him a container of Sawīq to drink from. He then called for some water, and performed the Maḍmaḍah. She said: “O son of my sister! Why do you not perform Wudū”? The Prophet ﷺ said: ‘Perform Wudū’ from anything that a fire has changed,’ or, ‘...a fire has touched.’” (Ṣaḥīh) Abū Dāwūd said: Az-Zuhri (one of the narrators) said: “O son of my brother.”[1]
