English translation
2097. (Another chain) from 'Ikrimah from the Prophet ﷺ, with this Hadīth (similar to no. 2096). (Hasan) Abū Dāwūd said: He did not mention Ibn 'Abbās, and this is how the people narrated it, the Mursal form is well-known.

2097 - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ. قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ: لَمْ يَذْكُرْ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ وَكَذَلِكَ رَوَاهُ النَّاسُ مُرْسَلًا مَعْرُوفٌ

Commentary
It is not proper for a father to give away his daughter in marriage to someone without her consent. In case the father's action is improper or injudicious, the judge has the right to revoke the marriage agreement.
