2172. Ibn Muḥairiz narrated: “I entered the Masjid and saw Abū Sa‘eed Al-Khudrī sitting there, so I sat next to him and asked him about ‘Azl. He said: ‘We went with the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ on the expedition of Banū Muṣṭaliq, and captured some Arab slaves. And we desired women, for being single had become difficult for us. And we also desired to ransom (these slaves), so we wished to practice ‘Azl. Then we said (to ourselves): “Will we do this while the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ is in our midst without having asked him first?” So we asked him about it, and he said: “There will be no harm upon you if you don’t do it. There is no soul that will be created until the Day of Judgment except that it shall be created.” (Sahih)
