English translation

2182. It was reported from Ibn Shihāb, that Sālim bin 'Abdullāh informed him, from his father (Ibn 'Umar), that he divorced his wife while she was in her menses. 'Umar mentioned this to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, and he ﷺ became very angry with that. He then said: "Command him to take her back, then, let him keep her until she becomes pure, then has her menses, then becomes pure (again). Then, if he wishes, he can divorce her while she is in her state of purity and before he touches her. And that is the divorce in the proper waiting period that Allāh the Exalted has commanded." (Sahih)
