2255. It was reported from 'Āsim bin Kulaib, from his father, from Ibn 'Abbās, that the Prophet ﷺ told a man — when he commanded two people to pronounce Li'ān — to place his hand on his mouth, saying for the fifth one: "This is the one that will inflict (the punishment)." (Sāhīh)
٢٢٥٥ - حَدَّثَنَا مَخْلَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الشُّعَيْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ رَجُلًا حِينَ أَمَرَ الْمُتَلَاعِنَيْنِ، أَنْ يَتَلَاعَنَا أَنْ يَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَى فِيهِ عِنْدَ الْخَامِسَةِ، يَقُولُ: «إِنَّهَا مُوجِبَةٌ»

A judge should keep admonishing the couple from time to time, and tell them to desist from proceeding further, because invoking the curse of Allāh is a tremendous matter.
