English translation

2322. Ibn Mas’ūd said: “We fasted with the Prophet ﷺ for twenty-nine days, more often than we fasted with him for thirty days.” (Sahih) [1] Meaning: “If we sight it on the thirtieth night of Rajab.”

Commentary

Twenty-nine days of fasting carries as much merit and reward as of thirty days since the deciding factor is one's sincerity and obedience to the commands of Allāh.
