English translation

2343: It was reported from 'Amr bin Al-'Ās, who said: "The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'The difference between our fasting and fasting of the people of Book is eating the pre-dawn meal (As-Sahār)." (Sahīh)

Arabic text

2343 - حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي قَيْسٍ مَوْلَى عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ فَصْلَ مَا بَيْنَ صِيَامِنَا وَصِيَامِ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ أَكْلَةُ السَّحَرِ»
