2506. It was reported from 'Abdul-Mu'min bin Khālid Al-Ḥanafī, who said: "Najdah bin Nufai' narrated to me, he said: 'I asked Ibn 'Abbās about this Verse: "If you march not forth, He will punish you with a painful torment." He replied: "The rain was withheld from them, and that was their punishment."[3] (Da'if)
2506 - حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمُؤْمِنِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَنَفِيِّ، حَدَّثَنِي نَجْدَةُ بْنُ نُفَيْعٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ: {إِلَّا تَنْفِرُوا يُعَذِّبْكُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا} [التوبة: 39] قَالَ: «فَأُمْسِكَ عَنْهُمُ الْمَطَرُ وَكَانَ، عَذَابَهُمْ»
