2591. It was reported from Yūnus bin 'Ubaid, the freed slave of Muḥammad bin Al-Qāsim (who said): "Muḥammad bin Al-Qāsim sent me to Al-Barā' bin 'Azīb to ask him about the flag of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ. He said: 'It was black and square, made of Namirah."[1] (Hasan)
2591 - حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى الرَّازِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْقُوبَ الثَّقَفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي يُونُسُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ مَوْلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ، قَالَ: بَعَثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ إِلَى الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ يَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ رَايَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَاهى؟ فَقَالَ: «كَانَتْ سَوْدَاءَ مُرَبَّعَةً مِنْ نَمِرَةٍ»
