Text and translation

English translation

2849. It was reported from Ḥammād, from 'Āṣim Al-Aḥwal, from Ash-Sh'ābi, from 'Adi bin Ḥātīm that the Prophet ﷺ said: "When you shoot your arrow and mention the Name of Allāh, and you find it (the game) the next day, and you did not find it (having fallen) in the water, and there is no other mark aside from the mark of your arrow, then eat it. But if some other dog joins your dogs then do not eat, for you do not know, perhaps it was killed by one that was not yours." (Saḥīḥ)
