Text and translation

English translation

2957. It was reported from Nāfi’, from Ibn ‘Umar that he was presented before the Prophet ﷺ on the Day of Uhud, and he was fourteen, and he ﷺ did not allow him (to fight). He was presented to him on the Day of Khandaq, when he was fifteen, and he allowed him. (Sahih)

2957 - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ: «أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عُرِضَهُ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ، فَلَمْ يُجِزْهُ، وَعُرِضَهُ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً فَأَجَازَهُ»
