English translation

3109. It was narrated from Anas bin Mālik that the Prophet ﷺ said: “None of you should wish for death,” and he narrated a similar report (as no. 3008). (Ṣaḥīḥ)

Arabic text

3109 - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ يَعْنِي الطَّيَالِسِيَّ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَا، يَتَمَنَّيَنَّ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَوْتَ» فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ
