Text and translation

English translation

3126. It was narrated that Anas bin Mālik said: "The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'Last night a son was born to me, and I have named him after my father, Ibrāhīm,'" and he narrated the Hadīth. Anas said: "I saw him (i.e., Ibrāhīm) there in front of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ at the point of death, and tears fell from the eyes of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, and he said: 'The eyes weep and the heart grieves, but we do not say anything but that which pleases our Lord. Verily we are grieved at your departure, O Ibrāhīm.” (Sahīh)
