Text and translation

English translation

3283. It was narrated from Ash-Sharīd that his mother left (a will) instructing that a believing slave be set free on her behalf. He came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: "O Messenger of Allāh, my mother left instructions that I should set free a believing slave on her behalf, and I have a black Nubian slave-woman." He mentioned a similar report. ["Should I set her free?" The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "Call her for me." So they called her, and she came. The Prophet ﷺ said to her: "Who is your Lord?" She said: "Allāh." He said: "Who am I?" She said: "The Messenger of Allāh." He said: "Set her free, for she is a believer.""] (Hasan)
