English translation

3553. It was narrated from Mālik, meaning Ibn Anas, from Ibn Shihāb, from Abū Salamah, from Jābir bin 'Abdullāh that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "Any man who is given a life-long gift for him and his descendants, it is for the one to whom it is given, and it cannot go back to the one who gave it, because he has given a gift that can be inherited." (Sahih)

3553 - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ فَارِسٍ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَنَسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ أُعْمِرَ عُمْرَى لَهُ، وَلِعَقِبِهِ فَإِنَّهَا لِلَّذِي يُعْطَاهَا لَا تَرْجِعُ إِلَى الَّذِي أَعْطَاهَا، لِأَنَّهُ أَعْطَى عَطَاءً وَقَعَتْ فِيهِ الْمَوَارِيثُ»،
