3639. It was narrated from 'Amr bin Shu'aib, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ ruled concerning the stream of Mahzūr that it should be held back until (the water) reached the ankles, then (those using) the upper part should release water to (those using) the lower part. (Hasan)
3639 - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ: «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَضَى فِي السَّيْلِ الْمَهْزُورِ أَنْ يُمْسَكَ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ، ثُمَّ يُرْسِلُ الْأَعْلَى عَلَى الْأَسْفَلِ»
