3730. It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbās said: “I was in the house of Maimūnah and the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ entered, accompanied by Khālid bin Al-Walid. They brought two grilled mastigures on sticks and the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ spat. Khālid said: 'I think you find it offensive, O Messenger of Allāh?' He said: 'Yes.' Then some milk was brought to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ and he drank. The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'When one of you eats food, let him say: Allāhumma bārik lana fīhi wa at'imnā khairan minhu (O Allāh, bless it for us and supply us with something better than it.) And if he is given milk to drink, let him say: Allāhumma bārik lanā fīhi wa zidnā mihu (O Allāh, bless it for us and give us more) for there is no food or drink that satisfies like milk.'" (Da'if)
