Text and translation

English translation

3873. It was narrated from ‘Alqamah bin Wā’il, from his father, that he mentioned Tāriq bin Suwaid, or Suwaid bin Tāriq, asked the Prophet ﷺ about Khamr, and he forbade it, then he asked him (again), and he forbade it. Then he said to him: “O Prophet of Allāh, it is a remedy.” The Prophet ﷺ said: “No, rather it is a disease.” (Sahih)
