Text and translation

English translation

3948. It was narrated from Shu'bah, from Khālid, from Abī Bishr Al-'Anbarī, from Ibn At-Talib, from his father, that a man manumitted his share of a slave, but the Prophet ﷺ did not oblige him to manumit the rest. (Da'if) Aḥmad[1] said: "It is with At-Tā'" - meaning At-Talib, "and Shu'bah would pronounce it with a lisp, not distinguishing At-Tā' from Ath-Thā'".[2]
