397. Muḥammad bin 'Amr — the son of Al-Ḥasan bin 'Ali bin Abī Ṭālib — said: "We asked Jābir about the times of the prayers of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ. He said: 'He use to pray Zuhr when it was hot; and ʾAṣr when the sun was still bright (Hayyah);[1] and Maghrib when the sun set; and 'Ishā', if the people were plenty, he would pray it early, and if they were few, he would delay it; and Subh (Fajr) when it was still dark."(Saḥih)
