Text and translation

English translation

458. Abū Al-Walīd said: "I asked Ibn 'Umar about the pebbles that are in the Masjid. He said: 'One night it rained on us, so the earth became wet. So a person would bring pebbles in his garment, and place them beneath him. When the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ finished the prayer, he said: 'What a great (idea) this is!'" (Āṭif)
