English translation

4798. It was narrated that Āishah said: "I heard the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ say: 'The believer may attain by means of good character the status of one who fasts and prays at night.'" (Hasan)

Arabic text

4798 - حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ يَعْنِي الْإِسْكَنْدَرَانِيَّ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَحِمَهَا اللَّهُ، قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ لَيُدْرِكُ بِحُسْنِ خُلُقِهِ دَرَجَةَ الصَّائِمِ الْقَائِمِ»
