Text and translation

English translation

5048. It was narrated from Sufyān from Al-A'mash and Maṇṣūr, from Sa'd bin 'Ubaidah, from Al-Barā' bin 'Āzib. Sufyān said: "One of them (the narrators) said: 'When you go to your bed in a state of purity' and the other said: 'Perform Wudū' as for prayer.'" And he quoted the meaning narrated by Mu'tamir (no. 5046). (Sahih)

5048 - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ الْغَزَّالُ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، وَمَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِهَذَا قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: قَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا «إِذَا أَتَيْتَ فِرَاشَكَ طَاهِرًا» وَقَالَ الْآخَرُ «تَوَضَّأْ وُضُوءَكَ لِلصَّلَاةِ» وَسَاقَ مَعْنَى مُعْتَمِرٍ
