English translation

5117. It was narrated from 'Abdur-Raḥmān bin 'Abdullāh bin Mas'ūd, that his father said: "Whoever supports his people on a basis other than the truth, he is like a camel that falls into a well and is pulled out by its tail." (Ṣaḥīḥ)

5117 - حَدَّثَنَا النُّفَيْلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: «مَنْ نَصَرَ قَوْمَهُ عَلَى غَيْرِ الْحَقِّ، فَهُوَ كَالْبَعِيرِ الَّذِي رُدِّيَ، فَهُوَ يُنْزَعُ بِذَنَبِهِ»
