English translation

5267. It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbās said: "The Prophet ﷺ forbade killing four types of animals: Ants, bees, hoopoes and sparrow-hawks." (Da'if)

Arabic text

5267 - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: " إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ قَتْلِ أَرْبَعٍ مِنَ الدَّوَابِّ: النَّمْلَةُ، وَالنَّحْلَةُ، وَالْهُدْهُدُ، وَالصُّرَدُ "
