(قلت: إسناده ضعيف؛ لارساله، ولعنعنة ابن جريج. وقال المنذري: " والحديث مرسل ". على أن الصواب فيه: أن الجلوس كان بعد الأذان وقبل الاقامة، كما رواه البيهقي من طريق أخرى عن ابن جريج. وقوله في هذه الرواية: حين تقام الصلاه ... وهم من بعض الرواة)

English translation

545. Sālim Abū Ān-Nadr (bin Abī Umayyah) narrated: “When the Iqāmah would be called, the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ would see (the number of people); so if he saw that they were few in number, he would sit and not pray (until they came) then he would pray, and if he saw they were a group (many), he would pray.” (Ṣaḥīh)

545 - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ أَبِي النَّضْرِ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ «حِينَ تُقَامُ الصَّلَاةُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ إِذَا رَآهُمْ قَلِيلًا جَلَسَ لَمْ يُصَلِّ، وَإِذَا رَآهُمْ جَمَاعَةً صَلَّى»،
