English translation

561. Buraidah narrated from the Prophet ﷺ that he said: "Give glad tidings to those who walk at night to the Masjid that (they will be given) complete light on the Day of Judgment." (Saḥīh)

Arabic text

561 - حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ الْحَدَّادُ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَبُو سُلَيْمَانَ الْكَحَّالُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ، عَنْ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: «بَشِّرِ الْمَشَّائِينَ فِي الظُّلَمِ إِلَى الْمَسَاجِدِ بِالنُّورِ التَّامِّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»

Commentary

See Allāh's saying in Sūrat At-Tahrīm (66:8), describing the light of the faithful on the Day of Judgment: Their light will run forward before them, and in their right hands. They will say: "Our Lord! Keep perfect our light for us."
