English translation

652. Shaddād bin Aws reported that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “Be different from the Jews, for they do not pray in their sandals or their Khuff.” (Ḥasan)

Arabic text

652 - حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْفَزَارِيُّ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ الرَّمْلِيِّ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «خَالِفُوا الْيَهُودَ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَا يُصَلُّونَ فِي نِعَالِهِمْ، وَلَا خِفَافِهِمْ»

    [1] In the first narration it is Qadha or Adha (some uncleanliness - or some impurity), and it is mentioned in two locations of the narration, in this narration it is Khubth and the narrator used the same term in both locations of the narration.
