English translation

1051. Narrated 'Abdullāh bin 'Amr رضي الله عنه: When the sun eclipsed in the lifetime of Allāh's Messenger ﷺ and an announcement Aṣ-Ṣalātu Jāmi'a [that Aṣ-Ṣalāt (the prayer) was to be held in congregation]. The Prophet ﷺ performed two bowings in one Rak'a. Then he stood up and performed two bowings in one Rak'a. Then he sat down and finished the Ṣalāt (prayer); and by then the (eclipse) had cleared. 'Aīshah رضي الله عنها said, "I had never performed such a long prostration."
