English translation
2833. Narrated Sālim Abū An-Nadr: 'Abdullāh bin Abī Aūfa wrote and I read what he wrote... that Allāh's Messenger ﷺ said, "When you meet them (i.e., your enemy in the battlefield) then be patient."

2833 - حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ أَبِي النَّضْرِ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى، كَتَبَ فَقَرَأْتُهُ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِذَا لَقِيتُمُوهُمْ فَاصْبِرُوا»
