3969. Narrated Qais: I heard Abū Dhar swearing that the following Holy Verse: "These two opponents (believers and disbelievers) dispute with each other about their Lord..." (V.22:19) was revealed concerning those men who fought on the day of (the battle of) Badr, namely, Hamza, 'Alī, 'Ubaida bin Al-Hārīth, and 'Utba and Shaiba the two sons of Rabī'a, and Al-Walīd bin 'Utba.
3969 - حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو هَاشِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مِجْلَزٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ عُبَادٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا ذَرٍّ، يُقْسِمُ قَسَمًا: إِنَّ هَذِهِ الآيَةَ: {هَذَانِ خَصْمَانِ اخْتَصَمُوا فِي رَبِّهِمْ} [الحج: 19] نَزَلَتْ فِي الَّذِينَ بَرَزُوا يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ: حَمْزَةَ، وَعَلِيٍّ، وَعُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ الحَارِثِ، وَعُتْبَةَ، وَشَيْبَةَ، ابْنَيْ رَبِيعَةَ، وَالوَلِيدِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ "
