English translation
4219. Narrated Jābir bin ‘Abdullāh رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا: On the day (of the battle) of Khaibar, Allāh’s Messenger ﷺ forbade the eating of the meat of donkeys and allowed the eating of the meat of horses.

4219 - حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا، قَالَ: «نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ عَنْ لُحُومِ الحُمُرِ الأَهْلِيَّةِ، وَرَخَّصَ فِي الخَيْلِ»
