English translation

4257. Narrated Ibn 'Abbās رضي الله عنهما: The Prophet ﷺ hastened in going around the Ka'bah and between the Aṣ-Ṣafā and Al-Marwa in order to show Al-Mushrikūn" (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allāh and in His Messenger Muḥammad ﷺ) his strength.

4257 - حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا، قَالَ: «إِنَّمَا سَعَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْبَيْتِ، وَبَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالمَرْوَةِ، لِيُرِيَ المُشْرِكِينَ قُوَّتَهُ»
