English translation
4599. Narrated Ibn 'Abbās رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَاregarding the Verse: "Because of the inconvenience of rain, orbecause you are ill..." (V.4:102) (It was revealed in connection with)'Abdur-Rahmān bin 'Aūf who was wounded.

4599 - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُقَاتِلٍ أَبُو الحَسَنِ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي يَعْلَى، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا: {إِنْ كَانَ بِكُمْ أَذًى مِنْ مَطَرٍ، أَوْ كُنْتُمْ مَرْضَى} [النساء: 102] قَالَ: «عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ كَانَ جَرِيحًا»
