English translation

4814. Narrated Abū Hurairah رضي الله عنه: The Prophet ﷺ said, "Between the two blowings of the Trumpet there will be forty." The people said, "O Abū Hurairah! Forty days?" I refused to reply. They said, Forty years?" I refused to reply and added: "Everything of a human body will waste away or perish or decay except the last coccyx bone (of the tail) and from that bone Allāh will reconstruct the human body." (40) SŪRAT GHĀFIR or AL-MŪ'MIN(The Forgiver or The Believer) In the Name of Allāh, the Most Gracious,the Most Merciful.

4814 - حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا صَالِحٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «بَيْنَ النَّفْخَتَيْنِ أَرْبَعُونَ» قَالُوا: يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ أَرْبَعُونَ يَوْمًا، قَالَ: أَبَيْتُ، قَالَ: أَرْبَعُونَ سَنَةً، قَالَ: أَبَيْتُ، قَالَ: أَرْبَعُونَ شَهْرًا، قَالَ: «أَبَيْتُ وَيَبْلَى كُلُّ شَيْءٍ مِنَ الإِنْسَانِ، إِلَّا عَجْبَ ذَنَبِهِ، فِيهِ يُرَكَّبُ الخَلْقُ» سُورَةُ المُؤْمِنِ قَالَ البُخَارِيُّ: " وَيُقَالُ: {حم} [غافر: 1]: مَجَازُهَا مَجَازُ أَوَائِلِ السُّوَرِ، وَيُقَالُ: بَلْ هُوَ اسْمٌ، لِقَوْلِ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى العَبْسِيِّ [البحر الطويل] يُذَكِّرُنِي حاميم وَالرُّمْحُ شَاجِرٌ ... فَهَلَّا تَلاَ حاميم قَبْلَ التَّقَدُّمِ {الطَّوْلِ} [التوبة: 86] التَّفَضُّلُ، {دَاخِرِينَ} [النمل: 87] خَاضِعِينَ " وَقَالَ مُجَاهِدٌ: " {إِلَى النَّجَاةِ} [غافر: 41] الإِيمَانُ، {لَيْسَ لَهُ دَعْوَةٌ} [غافر: 43] يَعْنِي الوَثَنَ، {يُسْجَرُونَ} [غافر: 72] تُوقَدُ بِهِمُ النَّارُ، {تَمْرَحُونَ} [غافر: 75] تَبْطَرُونَ «، وَكَانَ العَلاَءُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ يُذَكِّرُ النَّارَ، فَقَالَ» رَجُلٌ لِمَ تُقَنِّطِ النَّاسَ، قَالَ: وَأَنَا أَقْدِرُ أَنْ أُقَنِّطَ النَّاسَ، وَاللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَقُولُ: {يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ لاَ تَقْنَطُوا مِنْ رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ} [الزمر: 53] وَيَقُولُ {وَأَنَّ المُسْرِفِينَ هُمْ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ} [غافر: 43] وَلَكِنَّكُمْ تُحِبُّونَ أَنْ تُبَشَّرُوا بِالْجَنَّةِ عَلَى مَسَاوِئِ أَعْمَالِكُمْ، وَإِنَّمَا بَعَثَ اللَّهُ مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُبَشِّرًا بِالْجَنَّةِ لِمَنْ أَطَاعَهُ، وَمُنْذِرًا بِالنَّارِ مَنْ عَصَاهُ "
