4884. Narrated Ibn 'Umar رضي الله عنهم: 'Allāh's Messenger ﷺ burnt and cut down the palm-trees of Banī An-Naḏīr which were at Al-Buwaīra (a place near Al-Madīna). Thereupon Allāh تعالى revealed: "What you (O Muslims) cut down of the palm-trees (of the enemy), or you left them standing on their stems, it was by Leave of Allāh, and in order that He might disgrace Al-Fāsiqūn (the rebellious, disobedient to Allāh)." (V.59:5).
4884 - حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا: «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَرَّقَ نَخْلَ بَنِي النَّضِيرِ وَقَطَعَ وَهِيَ البُوَيْرَةُ»، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: {مَا قَطَعْتُمْ مِنْ لِينَةٍ أَوْ تَرَكْتُمُوهَا قَائِمَةً عَلَى أُصُولِهَا فَبِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ وَلِيُخْزِيَ الفَاسِقِينَ} [الحشر: 5]
