5276. Narrated Ibn 'Abbās رضي الله عنهما: The wife of Thābit bin Qais bin Shammās came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Allāh's Messenger! I do not blame Thābit for any defects in his character or his religion, but I am afraid that I (being a Muslim) may become unthankful for Allāh's Blessings." On that Allāh's Messenger ﷺ said (to her), "Will you return his garden to him?" She said, "Yes." So she returned his garden to him and the Prophet ﷺ told him to divorce her.
5276 - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ المُبَارَكِ المُخَرِّمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا قُرَادٌ أَبُو نُوحٍ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا، قَالَ: جَاءَتْ امْرَأَةُ ثَابِتِ بْنِ قَيْسِ بْنِ شَمَّاسٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، مَا أَنْقِمُ عَلَى ثَابِتٍ فِي دِينٍ وَلاَ خُلُقٍ، إِلَّا أَنِّي أَخَافُ الكُفْرَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «فَتَرُدِّينَ عَلَيْهِ حَدِيقَتَهُ؟» فَقَالَتْ: نَعَمْ، فَرَدَّتْ عَلَيْهِ، وَأَمَرَهُ فَفَارَقَهَا
