6743. Narrated Jābir: رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: While I was sick, the Prophet ﷺ entered upon me and asked for some water to perform ablution, and after he had finished his ablution, he sprinkled some water of his ablution over me, whereupon I became (1) (Ch. 12) ‘Aṣaba: See the footnote of H. 6740. conscious and said, "O Allāh's Messenger! I have sisters." Then the Divine Verses regarding the Laws of Inheritance were revealed.
6743 - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ المُنْكَدِرِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جَابِرًا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: " دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا مَرِيضٌ، فَدَعَا بِوَضُوءٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ، ثُمَّ نَضَحَ عَلَيَّ مِنْ وَضُوئِهِ فَأَفَقْتُ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّمَا لِي أَخَوَاتٌ، فَنَزَلَتْ آيَةُ الفَرَائِضِ "
