Text and translation

English translation

6789. Narrated 'Āishah رضي الله عنها: The Prophet ﷺ said, "The hand should be cut off for stealing something that is worth a quarter of a Dīnār or more." (1) (Ch. 13) The right hand is actually to be cut off. But if the left hand was cut off by mistake, Qatāda thinks that the right hand should then not be cut off.
