Text and translation

English translation

1967. Narrated Abū Sa'īd Al-Khudrī رضي الله عنه: Allāh's Messenger ﷺ said, "Do not observe Saum (fast) continuously day and night (i.e., do not practise Al-Wišāl) and if anyone of you intends to Ṣaum (fast) continuously day and night, he should continue till the Sahar (before the following dawn).” They said, “But you practise Al-Wišāl, O Allāh’s Messenger!” The Prophet ﷺ said, “I am not similar to you; during night I have One Who makes me eat and drink.”
