2064. Narrated Jābir رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: Acaravan arrived (at Al-Madīna) while wewere offering the Jumu'ah (prayer) with theProphet ﷺ. The people left and went out forthe caravan, with the exception of twelvepersons. Then this Verse was revealed: "And when they see some merchandise orsome amusement [beating of Tambūr (drum)etc.], they disperse headlong to it, and leave you standing..." (V.62:11)
2064 - حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الجَعْدِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: «أَقْبَلَتْ عِيرٌ وَنَحْنُ نُصَلِّي مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الجُمُعَةَ، فَانْفَضَّ النَّاسُ إِلَّا اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ رَجُلًا»، فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ: {وَإِذَا رَأَوْا تِجَارَةً أَوْ لَهْوًا انْفَضُّوا إِلَيْهَا، وَتَرَكُوكَ قَائِمًا} [الجمعة: 11]
