English translation

I got an old she-camel as my share from the booty, and the Prophet ﷺ had given me another from Al-Khumus. And when I intended to marry Fāṭima رضي الله عنها (daughter of the Prophet ﷺ), I arranged that a goldsmith from the tribe of Banī Qainuqā' would accompany me in order to bring Idhkhīr and then sell it to the goldsmiths and use its price for my marriage banquet.

    (1) (H. 2087) Hadīth No. 2087 confirms the fact that what you earn illegally, decreases ultimately, for it will be deprived of Allāh's Blessing and it will result in bringing about punishment in the Hereafter; while what you give in charity will be compensated for by the Blessing of Allāh many times, and you will be rewarded for it in the Hereafter as well.
